Cleopatra and Caesar

The setup

The war between Rome and Egypt is not going well for Caesar. In the pilot, Cleopatra's forces push forward, his officers bring him bad news, and the queen's people dangle a different kind of prize in front of him. Caesar, a married man who prides himself on discipline, orders them out and holds the line, for Rome and for his wife. Episode 2 moves the fight indoors. After a night of clashes between the camps, the two of them end up in one room, anger doing a poor job of hiding what else is in the air. Then Cleopatra tells him something that stops him cold, and a confession about an heir changes the stakes.

Why people keep watching

Two powerful people, one forbidden line, and a queen who knows exactly which buttons to press on a general who has conquered everything else. The free episodes keep to flirtation and standoff, a held look and a dare.
