House Rules

The setup

Dad is traveling for work, so the house belongs to Veronica and her stepson, back for a visit. She welcomes him with a tour and a few rules: obey her, join her at the hot tub, and do not phone his girlfriend today. He protests that someone is waiting for him, and she hears a challenge. Episode 2 adds a fourth rule, which forbids acting as if the previous night's noises never reached him, plus a robe, a loaded invitation and a girlfriend about to arrive at the front door. Veronica's timing is the whole show.

Why people keep watching

The numbered rules are the gimmick: each one gives her a new excuse to stand too close, while the girlfriend's arrival keeps the clock running. Robes, hot tub steam and reluctant protests keep episode 1 and episode 2 teasing.
