My Stepmom's Weekend

The setup

Riley is the second wife of a man who loves fishing more than movies, and when he leaves for a weekend trip she is home with his grown son, back from college. In the pilot she asks about his love life, hears there is nobody and calls that good news. She notices his glances, admits she likes them and plans a movie night. Episode 2 brings a phone call from his father at the worst moment; Riley answers breezily, says they are getting along great and returns to the weekend. She is careful to tell him he can call it off at any time, and she means it. Riley is Riley Reid's licensed AI twin, and the real Reid filmed none of it.

Why people keep watching

The charge comes from the household setup: a husband on the phone and out of reach, a wife who is bored and bold, and a stepson who cannot decide whether to run or stay. Free episodes keep to glances, hints and one interrupted call.
