Halloween with My Stepsister

The setup

Haley's stepbrother is working the night desk at his college residence hall when she turns up for Halloween in a devil costume, all grown up and openly amused that he can't hold her gaze. Their parents are on the road and due by midnight, which leaves the pair a few hours and one room. In the pilot she points out that he has spent years pretending not to notice her, he insists the stepsister part settles it, and then their mother calls to check on the drive. Once the phone is down, Haley sets the evening's rule: each knock on the door means he chooses trick or treat, and he gets whatever he picks.
