The setup

Two days before the wedding, a groom hears his fiancée, Emma, rule out any bachelor party and head off for the day. That puts him in the house with her mother, who is far more sympathetic than she should be. By the pool she admits she used to dance for a living, the sort of work men once paid well to watch, and decides her future son-in-law deserves a real send-off. He knows whose mother this is. He goes anyway. Episode 2 opens with a dress she says she wore for those old audiences and one firm rule: look, do not touch. He promises to behave, which is easier said than done, and then comes the shower invitation.
