The Nuns Took Me In

The setup

A traveler, drenched and wandering the forest, asks if he can stay until the weather passes. Two nuns answer the chapel door, and one of them says they will take him in with a glint that goes beyond hospitality. The pilot is dinner in a borrowed gown, a counting game about how long it has been since the last male guest, and a prayer list that includes world peace and, almost as an afterthought, an apology in advance for tonight's plans. Episode 2 asks what exactly they have in mind. The sisters insist they were only praying, one claims she was only brainstorming, and late at night a bell is offered as his direct line to room service of any kind.

Why people keep watching

Sacred setting, scandalous setup: the humor lives in the pious deadpan and the nuns' obvious enthusiasm. It is more comedy than melodrama, and the free episodes stay at sly hints and knowing looks.
