The setup

Harriet's first day at a London office starts with mild panic: everyone around her looks polished, the boss is gorgeous and she assumes none of them would look twice at her. The boss's assistant runs his calendar and his life, and she is hoping for a dinner invitation of her own. Then the boss meets Harriet, asks about her, sets aside the schedule to give her the tour himself and tells the assistant the paperwork can wait. In episode 2 the assistant tries to wave off the newcomer as just a temp, while the boss shows Harriet the supply cupboard and a stack of company shirts. Her goal for the day: avoid swearing at her boss. She fails.
