Our New Babysitter

The setup

Sophia, a grown woman hired by Mr. Owen's wife for the evening, arrives with a confident smile and a reminder that she bills by the hour. His wife has given her the run of the house, and she takes that literally. The pilot shows her on the phone with her boyfriend, describing her job as really hard while looking straight at the husband, and then asking Mr. Owen what time his wife is due home. In episode 2 the clock is running, he reminds her he is married, and she answers that she has a boyfriend, so everyone is in the same boat. His wife then phones to say she is staying at a friend's for the night.

Why people keep watching

The tension is a ticking meter: a wife out of the house, a husband who keeps citing his vows and a hired guest who clearly enjoys the overtime. Free episodes keep to flirting, glances and phone calls.
