Our Exchange Student

The setup

His girlfriend decided they should take in an exchange student, and the one she picked arrives with some very interesting questions. Mika is a grown guest from abroad, soft-spoken and eager to learn, and the girlfriend's only instruction is to help her settle in before rushing off to work. In the pilot she asks what friends with benefits means, he stumbles through an answer, and she decides she likes the idea. Episode 2 turns the lesson into a study of limits: Mika asks where exactly the line is, in a house where her showers run long and her host has been timing them, while her boyfriend calls and she tells him she is studying.

Why people keep watching

Teaching is the cover story. The show builds on curiosity, translation errors and one house guest who is more forward than she looks. Free viewers get lessons about words and lines, and the rest is implied.
