My Wife Hired My Nurse

The setup

With both hands in casts, Jake needs help with everything. His wife arranges a visiting nurse, tells him the agency is sending someone near retirement age, and leaves for work. Mila turns up instead, a blonde in a blue uniform whose top button is undone. The pilot is a long run of small jokes about what a man with no working hands cannot do for himself, and how generously his new nurse fills in. By episode 2 his wife phones in, curious how the new nurse is getting on, and hears that she is thorough. Promising to be home at seven, she hangs up, and Mila says there is plenty to cover before then.

Why people keep watching

Dark-comedy staging over a simple premise: a helpless patient, a confident caretaker and a wife on speakerphone. The free episodes lean on innuendo and timing, never anything past a hint.
