My Best Friend's Bride

The setup

It is two days before the wedding, and the best man has come to help. The groom, Jake, is buried in logistics with the caterer, which is a polite way of saying he isn't paying attention. The bride, Bri, asks the best man upstairs for her dress, since Jake is hopeless with zippers and always asleep by the time she needs him. She makes a pointed remark about how many years they have known each other without anything happening. He keeps trying to leave. In episode 2 he tells himself he shouldn't, she tells him the risk is the whole thrill, and the groom goes looking for his keys at the worst possible moment.

Why people keep watching

Forbidden by the calendar: a countdown to the vows. The tension lives in whisper-level scenes, a half-zipped dress, a missing set of keys and a best man who keeps saying no without leaving.
