Thanksgiving With My Best Friend's Mom

The setup

With no plans for the holiday, Ryan lets Kyle take him back to the family house for dinner. At the door, Kyle warns him to quit staring at his mother. She welcomes them both, says dinner is at six and soon asks Ryan to help with the turkey while the men settle in for football. Her hands are buttery, so he fetches her apron, and that leads to flirting over a taste test. She is glad he's staying for dinner, and when the game calls him to the living room she asks him to remain in the kitchen. Episode 2 adds a very hot pie, an offer of an extra hand with the turkey and a reminder that he's missing the game.

Why people keep watching

Holiday cooking as a pretext, with a house full of men watching football in the next room. The tension is the thin walls and the oven timer. Kyle's mom is an AI twin of Lexi Luna, built under license, and Lexi herself shot none of it.
