The setup

A suit fitting is supposed to be the dull part of wedding week. Veronica runs a fitting room where grooms come and go, and one of them, days from his vows, stands on her platform trying hard not to notice her. His fiancee phones with venue disasters and reports that his mother and the caterer are not speaking. Veronica tells him the stress does not have to belong in her shop, asks if he wants to look good for the wedding, and wonders aloud whether he is ready for marriage. She wants a second fitting tomorrow with nobody else in the shop. Episode 2 brings him back, having told his fiancee he is elsewhere. Veronica locks the door, and soon his fiancee is outside it.
