I Dated My Best Friend Mom

The setup

Jake is swiping through a dating app beside Tyler when a familiar face shows up on screen, Tyler's mother, Josie. Tyler tells him to swipe left, Jake claims he did, and he is lying. Josie turns up at the house soon after, greets everyone warmly, and lets Jake know she has seen exactly what he did. With Tyler close by, Jake spends the evening trying to look normal. Tyler invites him to stay over, and Josie volunteers to get his room ready, the sort of hospitality that makes a guest nervous. In episode 2, Tyler keeps calling for his friend while Jake ducks into a shower and Josie tells him, softly, to keep it quiet.

Why people keep watching

The comedy is the near miss: a best friend who might turn the corner at any second, a mother who knows more than she lets on, and one app notification that cannot be undone. Free episodes stay at flirting and narrow escapes.
