The setup

Candy Lane empties out each morning as the husbands head to work, and one custom runs the street: a flag goes up when a woman inside wants the plumber, or something close to it. Harriet's goes up first. She is his brother's wife, her kitchen pipe has leaked again, and after a flashlight, a soaking and a lot of banter, the repair is no longer the point. Episode 2 reveals the street's bigger secret. Holly and Mrs. Vance have been waiting their turn, Mrs. Morello is right behind them, and Harriet's offer to share him is not a polite suggestion. The leak holds, and the neighbors have plans.
